This time will be repairing a cowhide zip-around long wallet
Placed next to a new wallet.
This time, the repair is for Hallelujah's round-zipper cowhide wallet, which has been cherished by the customer for many years. Due to significant aging, we took commemorative photos by placing it side by side with a new wallet.
The transparent and natural cowhide, displaying such deep hues, is indeed a unique characteristic of genuine leather products.
Without further ado, let's begin the replacement process now.
First, the process involves disassembling the wallet.
We use small clamps to disassemble the wallet.
After cutting the threads, we remove the surface leather, exposing the interior. The interior still retains components known as the core material and traces of glue. We will remove the original zipper.
Apply Leather Conditioner
Spread the conditioner
The removed outer layer of leather, due to usage patterns and habits, exhibits unique aging characteristics within the same piece of leather. After laying it flat for maintenance, including caring for scratches, leather conditioner is applied for upkeep. This way, even if components like zippers are damaged, regular leather maintenance allows it to be used continuously.
Replacing the new zipper
Leather expert's sewing skills
After completing the leather care, the next step is to start sewing on the new zipper.
Unlike when making a new product, once sewn, needle holes exist, so if there is any deviation in the stitching position, the needle holes will be visible, making the finished product look less refined.
Stitching with precision without deviating from the original needle holes requires highly skilled craftsmanship!
Aligning with the sewn needle holes, stitching one stitch at a time, completing the process swiftly and beautifully.
Complete! The finished wallet is here! From the appearance, it no longer looks like a disassembled zip wallet. With the new and more beautiful zipper, it contrasts with the aging of the leather, elevating this wallet, doesn't it?
It looks like it can still be used for a long time.
What do you think?
Even if your beloved wallet or bag is damaged and unusable, there are repair and maintenance methods to use them again.
Despite careful use, metal accessories may sometimes be accidentally damaged, or the zipper part may be caught and torn. In such cases, we recommend not giving up easily but instead consulting with the retailer.
Most of Hallelujah's products can be repaired and maintained, so feel free to contact us anytime.
