[Test] Can I use "NIVEA Blue Can" to maintain my wallet? Results and thoughts after actual use

Hello, this is the Hallelujah team.

Recently, the sunlight during the day has become quite strong, entering a comfortable season.
However, please be aware that temperature differences and pollen may affect your health. We tested whether the popular body cream, NIVEA's Blue Jar, can be used to care for leather goods!

We will share the test results and impressions with you one by one.

What NIVEA and Leather Cream have in common: Most of the ingredients in NIVEA are oily ingredients.
Some people may have a negative impression of oily ingredients, but most of the oily ingredients in NIVEA are petroleum-derived.
Petroleum-derived ingredients are also used in baby oil and other products, so there is less concern about the effects on the skin. Leather cream is based on [water, oil, wax].

In fact, NIVEA also contains ingredients similar to these three ingredients, although in different proportions. NIVEA also has similarities to leather creams in terms of oily ingredients. Looks very promising! Next, let’s see if NIVEA is really suitable for leather care. I want to verify now.

I try care with NIVEA cream
We finally started testing to see if NIVEA really works for leather care! Use a brush and cloth.
and follow standard nursing procedures.

For detailed instructions on how to use leather cream for leather care, see this article.

Start with the brush first.
Use a soft-bristled brush to quickly remove dust and dirt from surfaces.
Be careful because if you don't remove them completely, you may scratch the leather when you wipe it with a cloth.

Next it’s NIVEA cream’s turn!
Does it really protect leather...?

Using a polishing cloth, apply NIVEA Cream.
Be careful not to apply too much as it may cause stains;
Apply a small amount of NIVEA cream to the cloth at a time.

Gently apply the cream in circular motions.
This distributes the cream evenly.

Compared with leather cream, NIVEA cream is less popular.
The texture is hard and prone to uneven application.
Also the spread didn't go as easily as expected and I found that more cream might be needed to fully cover the leather.

Be careful to avoid getting the cream into the crevices as this may make cleaning slightly more difficult. So make sure you spread the cream completely and evenly without leaving any residue. Once we had finished covering the entire surface, we also applied the cream to the opposite side and folded edges, not forgetting any areas. Check the item one last time to make sure there are no uneven parts.

Finish

I have finished applying all the NIVEA cream.

NIVEA's fragrance can be a bit controversial because some people may like it,
And some people may not like it. There is no gloss and the surface has a matte texture.

There is also a slightly moist texture.
The surface feels covered, but whether it's the same as leather cream is questionable.

Verification results and before-and-after comparison

How was this verification process for you?
Honestly, my impression after trying it out was that maybe as a temporary solution...?

Considering there's no significant price difference between this and real leather cream,
We recommend that leather cream should be used unless there is a specific reason.

Also I noticed that this cream leaves some residue when I first apply it.
Seems better suited for quick, emergency care rather than long-term maintenance.
